Mrs. Crabtree’s Weekly Newsletter
Week of 3/25/19
Hi Parents,
Need to know:
Play 60 is this Friday March 29th! Both field trip forms must be returned to allow your child to participate!
Our class will go out at 9am. Please send your child to school in athletic clothes and shoes. Make sure they bring a water bottle, wear sunscreen, and a hat if they choose.
For Raleigh: Field Trip Online payment
Halls of Wonder! It’ll be here before we know it! In case you aren’t aware, this is Sharon’s “science fair” and all parents are encouraged to come see the presentations!
The kids are working hard at school researching their animal and coming up with a question about the animal to use as the focus of their project. They will be presenting their information using Google Slides. There will be no formal paper written. The expectations are all laid out on the livebinder, you can find it at this link http://www.livebinders.com/play/play?id=2513475
We have plenty of time to work on this at school, so it shouldn’t be a problem for the kids to finish! However, there are two sections that are a home/family responsibility.
Important Dates:
This week in class:
Homework
This week in 4th grade:
Literacy: We have been learning about different types of figurative language. This week we will learn about the structure of poems and will be reading and writing poetry.
Math: We will be learning about and working with decimals, up to the tenth and hundredth place. We will have an assessment early next week.
Health: We will be working on a nutrition unit. We will start with healthy eating habits.

- Visual aid or prop: Students need to make or find a visual aid to display at their desk for the presentation. It should help the audience with furthering their understanding of the species or inquiry.
